Please note: The YRLA is an association of lawyers. Paralegals may purchase a library use card by visiting or calling the library at 905-895-2018. The cost is equal to the county library levy included in a lawyer's annual LSO fee. The 2026 fee is $232.00.

Membership is by calendar year and prorated quarterly for new members. Renewal emails are sent out annually on January 15th. There are 3 membership levels:

Regular Member - If your office is located in York Region you are a Regular Member. If your office is not in York Region and you are NOT a member of your local association, then you are also required to be a Regular Member. Junior Members excluded.

Associate Member - An Associate Member is already a member of the law association where their office is located. If you are NOT a member of your local association, then you must register as a Regular Member.

Junior Member - Junior Membership applies to new lawyers called to the bar 2024 or later.

Associate Membership (PLUS HST) - $170.00 (CAD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 15th No automatically recurring payments An Associate Member is already a member of the law association where their office is located. If you are NOT a member of your local association, then you must register as a Regular Member. Annual fee $170.0 + hst = $192.10. Prorated quarterly.

Junior Membership (PLUS FOLA FEE AND HST) - $120.00 (CAD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 15th No automatically recurring payments Junior Membership applies to new lawyers called to the bar 2023 or later. Annual fee $120.00 + mandatory FOLA Fee $30.00 + hst = $169.50

Regular Membership (PLUS FOLA FEE AND HST) - $170.00 (CAD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 15th No automatically recurring payments If your office is located in York Region you are a Regular Member. If your office is not in York Region and you are NOT a member of your local association, then you are also required to be a Regular Member. Junior Members excluded. Annual fee $170.00 + madatory FOLA Fee $30.00 + hst = $226.00. Pro-rated quarterly.
